Engage Today. Shape Tomorrow.

The choices we make today lay the foundation for the community we’ll share tomorrow. That’s why your involvement in the 2026 Municipal Budget process is so important.

Your input helps us make informed, balanced decisions that support essential services such as emergency response, parks, road maintenance, and social supports while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

By taking part in this year’s budget engagement campaign, you’re helping to shape a stronger, more resilient future for everyone who lives, works and plays in our community.

Investing in a Sustainable Future

Long-term financial planning ensures we continue to deliver essential services now and in the years to come. The 2026 budget aims to create a balance between maintaining current service levels and preparing for future growth, all while keeping financial sustainability at the core of every decision.

Every municipal service, whether it’s protective services, parks and green spaces, transportation, or planning and development, relies on careful, responsible budgeting to operate efficiently and equitably.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

While some municipal functions are funded by alternative funding sources such as user fees, some services are funded by tax dollars. For every dollar collected through municipal taxes, 24% (24¢) is allocated towards educational taxes for the public and catholic school divisions, 76% (76¢) is allocated towards funding municipal services that impact your daily life. In 2025, here is how each dollar of taxes were distributed:

Get Involved

The City aims to engage with residents and businesses regarding their satisfaction with current municipal services, budgetary priorities and much more. You can get involved by completing the survey below, asking a budget-related question or stopping by one of the many in-person displays throughout the summer. More details on in-person opportunities are to come.

Paper surveys are available at various City-owned facilities (City Hall, Operations Centre, Landfill, Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre, Bioclean Aquatic Centre, Servus Sports Centre and Lloydminster Museum + Archives).

Public consultation closes on August 20, 2025.
