In December 2023, WestJet announced that it would permanently suspend its services between Calgary and Lloydminster, with the final flight operating on April 12, 2024. The City of Lloydminster recognizes the importance of passenger air services for business productivity and competitiveness, improving resident quality of life through intercommunity connectivity, and supporting our visitor economy. The restoration of passenger air services to Lloydminster Airport is a high priority for the City of Lloydminster. </div><div class="OutlineElement Ltr SCXW95512447 BCX0">The City is working with HM Aero Aviation Consulting and ASM Global Route Development to complete a Commercial Air Service Feasibility Study. The goal of this project is to equip the City with the materials and strategy needed to effectively pursue prospective airlines and restore air service connectivity at Lloydminster Airport. Commercial Air Service Feasibility Study

The Draft Bylaw is available for viewing on the right hand side on desktop or below on mobile.The Phase 2 Survey is available below from March 14 to April 4 at 11:59 p.m.The City of Lloydminster is currently in the process of updating the Land Use Bylaw <a href="https://www.lloydminster.ca/Modules/Bylaws//Bylaw/Details/45c80e4a-921c-47b8-818c-768795840760" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">(Bylaw 05-2016)</a>. Mandated by the Municipal Government Act (MGA), a land use bylaw (LUB) establishes the set of regulations that guide the look, feel and shape of the city while supporting growth, economic development and land use for the community as a whole. The LUB carefully considers all elements of the municipality from each neighbourhood, block, and individual home and business in the city.Over the last decade, Lloydminster has experienced periods of rapid growth and must continually evolve and set standards for future development.
