New Event Facility
The City of Lloydminster is preparing to design and build a modern new event facility. The City expects to break ground on the project in early 2023, with a grand opening in 2025. Visit lloydminsterplace.ca to learn more.
The City of Lloydminster is working to ensure your wants and wishes are considered in the construction of our new event facility! The Your Place, Your Experience campaign launched on February 14, 2022, following the Community Engagement Unveiling Event. This event was held to officially launch the site plan, sponsorship opportunities, engagement campaign and Lloydminster Place brand. Primary stakeholders were invited to participate as speakers and honoured guests. You can view the recording of the unveiling event on the City of Lloydminster's Facebook Page.
Engagement
The City first consulted with the public to ensure a full understanding of the new event facility project and gave the community a chance to share their voice. An online survey was made available from February 14 to March 5, 2022, in order to collect initial input regarding future Lloydminster Place experiences, amenities, accessibility, events and uses. The City also set up information kiosks around Lloydminster for in-person engagement opportunities. The findings of the survey can be found in the What We Heard Report.
Feedback was sought once again from both residents of Lloydminster and the surrounding areas. The data collected will guide City Administration's future decisions regarding the building and site development of Lloydminster Place. The second 'Your Place, Your Experience' survey ran from May 13 to May 31, 2022. You can view the What We Heard Report for the findings.
